Boys & Girls Swimming: NISCA Awards All-American Certification to Athletes

The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) has recently announced their annual All-American honors, and Colorado has it's share of recipients.  The awards are determined first based upon times/scores that coaches submit at the end of the season and that meet a very high consideration time or score standard. After the submission window closes, the Top-100 times/scores are ranked and awarded. 

Colorado had strong representation in the lists and had the 9th highest overall number of recipients with the following stats:

Colorado (9th):
  Boys - 12 Relays, 28 Individuals, 3 divers, 79 splashes earned All-American status
  Girls - 10 Relays, 28 individuals, 4 divers, 72 splashes earned All-American status
  Overall - 151 splashes earned All-America standing

NISCA also awards Academic All-Americans based upon submitted athletes who have a 3.75 cumulative GPA as of their first semester of their Senior year.  Colorado had a significant number of student athletes qualify for this honor as well.  Colorado had 6 boys and 33 girls earn this prestigious award.  For the boys, Cheyenne Mountain and Fossil Ridge led the way with 2 boys each, while 8 girls from Fairview and 5 girls from Monarch, Mountain Vista, and Fossil Ridge had the highest counts.
